ANNOUNCEMENT: Revenants on the Redway Project

Hello folks! I’ve got some news for you all… I’m launching a new project.

I’ve been pondering lately — well, I ponder a lot, all the time, but recently I’ve been more thoughtful than usual. This blog has been going for ten whole years. One of the stories I’m working on at the moment has a plot device that hinges on strange and unusual things happening at very specific and linked places around MK, in a meaningful pattern. For my own amusement, I set up a map to plot all of my blog posts across the city from this last decade and see if it made any sort of pattern. No. It didn’t. But what it did make me realise is that in all of that time, I’ve only covered a fraction of the estates here. It got me wondering just how many grid squares the city is made up of — I’d idly thought maybe 20? 30? No – 110+ at last count :O All those squares… all those possible stories…

So, last Thursday, when I was sitting in the bandstand over at the linear park just past Furzton, an idea struck me. Someone really should explore whether there’s a strange or spooky story for every one of those grid squares. Imagine a collection of all of those?! That would be very interesting to read, and I’m pretty sure no-one’s done it before… someone really should do it…

Oh dear.

That someone’s going to be me, isn’t it?

Apparently yes!

So, today, I’m launching the Revenants on the Redway project a.k.a A Ghost in Every Grid Square. I can explore online and look for stories across the city, and I will do that, but it’s a pretty daunting task so I’m going to be doing some crowdsourcing and asking people to share their experiences with me. Whether it ends up as a book, a podcast or something even more exciting, I don’t know yet. I know it’s going to be fun!

Hit the button below to read all about the project, and do get involved if you have a story to share! I can’t wait to hear all the stories that are out there 🙂
